Welcome to our guest house and for your own comfort we would like to present you our internal rules so that we can serve you in the best way.

This regulation lays down rules and procedures for the full understanding between guests and management, noting that common sense and mutual respect are the best references for socializing with standards of civility.

We count with the understanding and cooperation of all to maintain an interaction marked by kindness and professionalism.

When making a reservation the guest must meet and agree to all the rules described in this document. The regulation is available at the reception or at


General Rules

Guests are responsible for the damage they cause to Sommerschield Guest House & Restaurant (SGH&R), its equipment and furniture.

May be denied access, check-in, or stay to those who do not comply with the requirements of the regulation or in any way disturb the family environment, peace in our facilities and normal service provision. The SGH&R is a place of rest and recreation, characterized by a healthy and familiar atmosphere.

From 11:00 pm and until 7:00 am all guests are entitled to absolute rest, therefore is not permitted activities that produce noise likely to bother other guests. As a matter of respect and understanding towards all, pay special attention to the silence time in the rest areas and corridors.

The permanence or stay of people in rooms that are not part of the guest list is not allowed.

The room price is based on the number of guests. It is prohibited to increase the number of guests per room without authorization from SGH&R management.

The maximum of guests (including children) is 3 per room.

Any changes to the schedules stipulated are subject to confirmation upon availability of SGH&R.


Duties of guests

Guests must:

Guide their behavior by the rules of courtesy and politeness, pay promptly the invoices relating to the services that are rendered and meet the operating standards herein.

Respect other guests, owners and staff, have sense and duty of citizenship, ecological behavior, avoiding waste of water and light.

Strictly observe the time of silence and not make noise likely to bother other guests.


Booking Policy

In case of cancellation up to 14 days before arrival, a percentage of 10% of the total amount will be charged.

In case of cancellation or late change, a percentage of 50% of the total amount will be charged.


Withdrawal without cancellation (no show)

NO SHOW is a withdrawal without cancellation, i.e. when the guest does not appear on the date reserved, without prior notice in writing or email.

The reserved room will be available for the guest until it supplies the value deposited for the entire daily stays. If there is a remaining amount it may be retained by the SGH&R as a form of compensation. After this period the reservation will be canceled.

In case of no show the full amount of the reservation will be charged.


Withdrawal after check in

In case of early departure during the stay of the booked and contracted period the full amount of the reserve period will be charged and guests will not have the right to any refund in cash or on credit of new booking.

Deposit Policy

The reservation is confirmed through the deposit of 50% of the accommodation booking total value, sending proof of delivery via fax or email and by identifying the holder of the reservation.

  • Maps, Maputo guidebooks and information

  • Housekeeping (daily service)

  • Hair dryer (on request)

  • Laundry service (extra cost)

  • Ironing facilities (on request/free - self-service)

  • Luggage storage (free)





Takes place between 2 pm and 8 pm.

Rates are counted from 2 pm (check in).

In the act of registration or reservation the guest will have to identify himself/herself and provide his/hers identity card / passport.

Upon check-in you will be given a room key. If you lose the key immediately report the incident to the reception.



It’s between 8:30 am and 11:30 am. If you want to extend these hours, please consult the reception in advance.

On the departure day, rooms must be free until 12 pm hours.

Upon check-out the room key must be returned at the reception.

The balance of daily and other expenses during the stay should be granted and paid in the check-out act.

Breakfast is included in the daily rate and is served exclusively in the restaurant room located in the ground floor, and the food available here are solely for consumption on that site or at the outside bar / plaza.

The breakfast buffet is served with the following schedule:

  • 7:30 am until 9:30 am from Monday to Friday

  • 8 am until at 10 am on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays.

We do not serve breakfast in the rooms and even after this time.

  1. Cleaning Service

The cleaning and tidying the room service will take place:

  • from 8 am to 2:30 pm from Monday to Friday

  • from 8 am to 1 pm on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays.

The cleaning service will be performed only once a day.


Children and extra beds

All children are welcome.

Up to 2 years old they do not pay since they stay in their parent’s room accommodated by their own means.

The price for extra beds superior to 2 years of age is 2,500 meticais.

Maximum of extra beds per room is 1, and subject to confirmation upon availability.

The maximum of cots per room is one, and subject to confirmation upon availability.

It is only allowed accommodation of underage minors when accompanied by a parent or adult legally responsible.



Extra Costs

Expenses that are not covered by the daily, as consumption in the bar, cafe, restaurant, convenience and others will be added to the daily rate.

Reception Service

SGH&R offers reception service from 8 am to 8 pm


External services

External services like TAXI, PRIVATE LAUNDRY among others, are not of SGH&R responsibility however it can be facilitated by the same that will launch the service cost automatically on the Guest account.


Wake up Service

SGH&R has no wake up service.



SGH&R provides security (guards and electric fence) and a safe per room for enjoyment of our guests but does not accept any responsibility for cash, jewelry or other valuables that might disappear within their facilities.

Any lost object found will be stored for a period of 90 days. After this period the object will be given the most convenient destination at our discretion.

Always remember to close the door of your room.



SGH&R has no private parking so guests have to park their vehicles on the public road.

SGH&R will not responsible for any damage caused by third parties or thefts in vehicles parked on the public road.



Visits will be received in the common lounge area of SGH&R, being forbidden their stay in the rooms. Private visits to the rooms could be assessed and authorized by management and may lead to an increase in daily rate depending on the case.

Management reserves the right to vet the hosting or stay in the house to a guest who transgresses moral standards or any other rule included in this document.



Any damage caused by guests or their dependents / guests to the facilities or the rooms of SGH&R will be debited to the account of the responsible person for the room booking.

The guest or visitor will be asked to vacate the room or to withdraw from the premises of SGH&R for breaking any rule of this regulation, by presenting antisocial behavior, or by failure to pay the bill when presented.

Any damage practiced voluntarily on the premises of SGH&R will be charged.

Depending on their severity, the company may take legal action it deems necessary.



Notwithstanding the above and the general rules on tourism accommodation is not allowed within the SGH&R facilities:

  • Smoking in indoor spaces and in the rooms.

  • As a matter of respect and understanding for all guests, it calls special attention to the silence in social areas and corridors. Noises that disturb third parties must be avoided in the quiet hours that go from 11 pm to 7:30 am.

  • Entering areas of restricted access.

  • Cooking in rooms or any area of the house.

  • Accommodate third parties without permission disrespecting the number of guests per room contracted.

  • Dry towels or clothes on the balcony or on the furniture of the room.

  • The consumption of drinks in common areas that have not been acquired in SGH&R.

  • Circulate by SGH&R in sleeping or bathing costumes.

  • Wearing or using materials that can bring personal risk or to third parties.

  • Animals in the rooms or on the premises of SGH&R.

  • Switch or change the layout of the rooms.

  • Leave garbage by the common and private spaces.

  • Excessive intake of alcoholic beverages.



When any officer of this property shows silent and does not answer with promptness and correctness we ask the guest to bring their complaints to management that will take immediate and appropriate action.

In situations not provided for in this Regulation shall be used the law in force in Mozambique. The SGH&R reserves the right to take legal action deemed necessary.
